Children’s Ministry Opportunities
We love to have children with us at Bay View UMC!
The spiritual development of our children is important to us. Each Sunday morning during the worship service, Pastor Cody provides a “Children’s Moment,” where he shares a message that is specifically intended for the children. The Children’s Moment may involve an object, or a story, or a song — something that will capture the attention of our youngest disciples and help them to develop their relationship with God.
After the Children’s Moment, children aged 2-12 are invited to the Fellowship Hall to join our Sunday School teachers for a short lesson. While their parents or caregivers listen to the sermon, they have a lesson that is geared toward them. This lesson is usually connected to the same scripture passage or topic that is being addressed in the sermon, so that children and parents can talk together about what they learned after church.
If parents would prefer to have their children remain with them during the worship service, that is fine as well. Children and youth who are older than 12 are encouraged to remain in the Sanctuary, as Pastor Cody works hard to make sure that each week’s sermon is meaningful and engaging to disciples of all ages.
