Pastor Cody grew up in the small town of Selah, near Yakima in Eastern Washington where he grew up attending Selah United Methodist Church. He received his Bachelors of Arts degree from Eastern Washington University before earning his Master of Divinity degree at Louisville Presbyterian Theological Seminary in Louisville, KY.
Cody has served Bay View UMC since 2012. In addition to being the pastor of Bay View UMC, he is also the pastor of Central UMC in Sedro-Woolley. His previous ministry experience includes working at camps in the Pacific Northwest Conference and New England Conference, and serving as the pastor of West Point UMC in West Point, KY as well as Avon UMC in Mt Vernon, WA.
Cody lives in Sedro-Woolley with his wife, Crystal; their sons Charley (age 5) and Cedar (born April 2017); and their dog, Bailey.
Cody is excited about life-giving, world-changing ministry and mission — starting right here in the Bay View community. He is passionate about social justice, in particular environmental justice, issues of poverty and homelessness, and racial justice. When he is not working, he enjoys reading, cycling, camping, watching comedies & dramas, and exploring the beautiful Pacific Northwest with his family.
